Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho was the rescued Manchester City on Tuesday, December 6 2016, as his goal saved his club from an embarrassing home defeat against visiting Celtic in the UEFA Champions League game played at the Etihad Stadium.
The visitors opened scoring in the 4th minute through Patrick Roberts, and it took Manchester City only four minutes as Super Eagles' forward Kelechi Iheanacho restored parity for his team.
Manchester City striker Kelechi chipped the Celtic goalkeeper after receiving a forward pass. He would have scored the second goal almost immediately after scoring the first goal, but Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon was in full stretch to deny him the second goal as the tie ended 1-1.
Lucas Perez netted three goals as Arsenal defeated Basel 4-1 to go top of Group A ahead of Paris Saint Germain who were forced to a 2-2 draw at home by Ludogorets.
Perez who joined Arsenal from
Deportivo La Coruna is now the sixth
Arsenal player to score a hat-trick for
the Gunners in the history of the UEFA
Champions League.
In Spain, Barcelona taught Borussia
Moenchengladbach a good football lesson as they were beaten 4-0 at Camp Nou. Lionel Messi scored the first goal and Arda Turan netted a hat-trick.
