STRANGE BAG CAUSES PANDEMONIUM IN ADAMAWA
A strange bag found in the Federal
College of Education in Yola, Adamawa
state has resulted in disarray with many sustaining injury as they fled to safety.
Witnesses said they thought the bag
found in front of the institution
contained bombs.
The confusion resulted in heavy traffic
gridlock along the Jimeta-Yola Road.
It also attracted policemen from the Adamawa Anti-bomb Squad as well as soldiers serving in the state.
The security operatives were said to
have immediately been called to duty
only to discover that the bag did not
contain any explosives, but waste materials.
The public relations officer of the
Adamawa police command, SP Othman
Abubakar, confirmed the development
and commended members of the public
for their vigilance.
He also urged the public to always alert
the police whenever they sighted any
suspicious object.
