A huge snake was killed in the evening hours of Sunday, December 11 in university of agriculture, makurdi.
The snake was killed by a student on his way back from class. He said "I was on my way back from class, when i observed a snake curled up at one corner of the road, i immediately searched out for a stone which i used to kill it, after which i picked it up and brought to the hostel where i roasted it"
It is highly suspected that the snake just finished eating a huge game and was unable to move in defense of itself. The boys hostel was in jubilation as they roasted and shared the meat among those interested.
There has been several occurences of snakes being killed in the various institution across the country. Bearing in mind the danger snakes can cause to the students, university hostels should be built in well developed areas not near where bushes are but unfortunately the reverse is the case.
