ARSENAL LOSSES GROUND IN THE TITLE CHASE
Arsenal lost ground to Chelsea in the chase for the Premier League title as they were defeated 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park. Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for Arsenal midway though the first
half, as his deflected frrekick found the net but just before the break Seamus Coleman levelled with a beautiful header from a cross from Baines with four minutes left, Ashley Williams scored for the host to help them pick maximum points as he headed a corner by Ross Barkey to the top left corner of the goal. Everton captain Phil Jagielka was dismissed for a second booking three minutes into
stoppage time.
Everton's 2-1 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park ended the visitors' incredible run of more than 10 years without losing on a Tuesday in the Premier League. Arsenal had not lost in the premier league this season since losing in the opening day to Liverpool but Everton proved too tough to beat.
Wenger told BT Sport afterwards. "And at the end of the day I must say we were a bit unlucky to lose as well. "We had the first chances in the second half,
especially through Mesut. After that they defended very well. You have to give them credit, they played a cup game. For us [the key] was to not give them anything on set pieces and crosses and at the end of the day it was two defenders in their team who scored."
Arsenal's next match is against Manchester city, Will Wenger pick a win at Ethiad?. Only time can tell
