Reports from Mirror Football confirms that Manchester City have completed the signing of Ederson from Benfica. The Brazilian goalkeeper arrives for a fee of £34.9m after agreeing a long-term deal.
Ederson had visited Manchester last week but a third-party ownership agreement had delayed the deal.
But that has been resolved and the 23-year-old becomes City's second signing of the summer.
The fee makes Ederson the most expensive goalkeeper in history, £2million more than Gianluigi Buffon's move to Juventus from Parma in 2001.
“I like everything about Manchester City. This is a great club, the league they have here in England and they have amazing fans and they play splendid football. I have always had the dream to play in English football and now I'm going to make it true.
“With Pep Guardiola, City are growing more and more. He is putting in place a young team for the future. Those were important factors in making my decision.
“Manchester City has an amazing squad. I think they managed to have a good season. Next season, we will have to be focused to achieve the goal of winning trophies.”
He is set to challenge Claudio Bravo for the No.1 spot at the Etihad following the departure of Willy Caballero.
Joe Hart remains on City's books but appears certain to depart on a permanent deal this summer.
