The Nigerian police yesterday dispatched some peaceful protesting unical students in calabar, Cross river state.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Murtala Mohammed Highway Calabar by Transcorp Hotel as they gathered at the U. J. Esuene stadium during the Children’s Day programme.
Mynaijland could authoratively confirm that the students were protesting over the alleged non release of the money promised them by the governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade by the
Commissioner for Youths and Sports , Mr. Asu Okang.
The students that were protesting and exercising their right under the scorching sun were attacked with
teargas and also allegedly shot at by the
security operatives.
About three students shot with various degrees of injuries by the security operatives.
We wonder of the students don't have the right to protest peacefully and gather to demand for what was promised them again.
