Yesterday, 20th April an electrical installation, a transformer, exploded, cutting a high tension overhead cable and dropping it on a football viewing centre made with Zinc roofing sheets
wall, killing about 30 football fans with many others injured.
The unfortunate incidence occured while faans were watching the Europa league matches along Akpandem Street, Atimbo, Calabar Municipality.
Calabar Urban Development Authority (CUDA) has been blamed by some for allegedly allowing a football viewing centre to be built and operated under a high tension cable!
