Riyad Mahrez has been announced as the African footballer of the year. He beat off competition from Pierre Emerick Augbemayang and Sedio Mane.
The Foxes star won 361 votes at the official CAF awards, edging in front of Aubameyang's 313, while Liverpool forward Sadio Mane finished in third place with 186 votes.
Mahrez scored 17 goals and assisted 11 during Leicester magic display last season. He was awarded the PFA player of the year as well as BBC African player of the year.
This season he has recorded seven goals and two assists. Both Augbemayang and Mane together with Mahrez will turn their attention now to the AFCON.
