MANY FEARED DEAD IN INTERCOMMUNITY WAR
An inter community fight has broken out between two neighbouring communities in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State
The brawl all started after a young man was allegedly beheaded by a chief hunter.
According to Vanguard, the clash has left over 10 people dead and many houses demolished. The conflict between the people of Ogwurude and their Oyidah neighbours began when head hunters from Oyidah community allegedly harvested the head of a young man which they intended to use in the burial ceremony of a chief.
Mr. Jude Ngaji, Cross River State Security Adviser, said peace had returned to the warring communities with security operatives deployed to the area, while efforts are on to hold meetings with leaders of both communities to find lasting solution to the conflict.
