BOMB EXPLODES IN UNIVERSITY OF MAIDUGURI AS MANY STUDENTS ARE FEARED DEAD

A bomb exploded at the mosque of the
University of Maiduguri, Borno state as many people are feared dead as the number of lives lost is yet to be confirmed.

The tragic incident occurred in the morning on Monday, January 16.



Boko Haram has been responsible for a number if deadly attacks in Maiduguri and the Islamic sect will be the prime suspects here.



Some students and members of staff had gone to mosque for early morning prayers when the bomb exploded.
Security operatives have been mobilised to the scene of the explosion .




The National Emergency Management
Authority has confirmed the bomb attack and said rescue operation is ongoing.



Among those suspected dead is a professor while 5 other students were killed. About 20 other persons are injured and are being attended to.
