I come to think of it that most Africans especially, black Africans are not proud of who they are, as such, tend to envy and shift attention to the western world.
Needless to repeat the words of Julius Nyerere on this matter, but may it suffice to point out some glaring evident of 'Africans mentality'.
Few weeks ago, the US conducted her presidential election. The moments preceeding the election, to the election, and then post election have been constantly reported on our local news.
Donald Trump/ Hilary Clinton have been 'reoccurring decimal' in our news but sad to note that, many Africans are not aware that Gambia just conducted her presidential election in a peaceful manner with the incumbent president conceding to defeat.
Having arrested your attention, I make bold to say that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is indeed a pace setter to the rest of African leaders. Being the first African president to accept defeat in a presidential election though incumbent at the time of election.
As I considered this good example set by Nigeria's immediate past president, I'm sure many would want to learn from this example but what I'm not sure is if Buhari would accept defeat 2019 should it happen.
