Arms deal; Former deputy governor surrenders

The economic and financial crimes commission has realeased former governor of Osun state and chieftain of PDP in Osun state, Iyiola Omisore.

Iyiola promised to refund N1.3billion he allegedly received from the office of the National security adviser, NSA.

Omisore was apprehended by EFCC on July 3 and has been in their custody. Though he complained of health issues and taken to Abuja for treatment, he was still under close watch by security men.

Omisore settled with EFCC that he will refund the money in instalment. The Street Journal has it that he made effort and paid the first instalment of N300million before he was released to go home by the EFCC

According to Naij.com, Omisore is expected to return to the office of the EFCC on Monday for further negotiation regarding how he would return the staggering sum of N1billion.
